What is in the app, and what is on the way.

Everything without a badge is available now. Anything still in development carries aComing soon badge, so you always know which is which.

Safety

The rules every statement follows. All of them work the same in Free.

One audited path for every statement

Free

Typed queries, grid saves, designer scripts and the app’s own catalog queries all go through one execution path and get a row in the local command log. The row is saved before the result is shown. Blocked statements are logged too. Parameter values are never stored.

App traffic is labelled

Free

Every statement SQL Sleuth sends on its own starts with a /* sqleuth:… */ comment, so it is easy to spot in server-side traces.

Generated SQL is shown before it runs

Free

Grid saves, designers and object operations show the exact script first. You can copy it instead of running it. The script that runs is the script you reviewed.

Secrets live only in the OS keychain

Free

macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager. Secrets never go into the app’s files or the log, the UI can never read them back, and connection exports never include them. A saved secret is bound to its server.

Nothing happens behind your back

Free

Launching the app never logs in to any server. There is no telemetry or usage analytics.

Connections and credential security

A connection manager for on-premises SQL Server, Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance.

Connection manager

Free

Navicat/SSMS-style, with test connection that reports connect time, server version and an On-premises or Azure badge.

Connection groups

Free

Nested folders for your connections.

Color tags and environment badges

Free

Dev, Test, Prod and Other.

Production safeguards

Free

Prod connections get a red rail, a PROD badge and a banner that screen readers announce. Editing tabs start locked behind “Enable editing”. Enter never executes on prod, and the biggest drops require typing the object’s name.

Read-only connections

Free

Refuse anything the app cannot prove is a pure read. The check fails closed. It is a local safeguard: a reader login is still recommended for production.

Confirm destructive statements

Free

A per-connection policy, on by default for Prod connections. Drops, truncates and grid saves that delete rows or change 100 or more rows ask for confirmation.

Export and import connections

Free

Exports never include secrets. Imports show a preview first.

Clear connection errors

Free

Plain language, for example “Blocked by the Azure SQL firewall”, with your client IP.

Windows Authentication

Free

Stop cancels a running query within 1 second, even while 2 million rows are streaming.
